Cute and country? Or cheap and tacky?
I'm undecided. (Realize that I have to refinish it. I used most of the poly/stain stuff to tan my legs.)

Once in a lifetime...

You get an opportunity to see history. Okay it may be an over dramatization, but we are headed tomorrow to see Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin. We are ecstatic! (We're political junkies.) Doin' the Swap Thing, Baby!

I was so excited to hear my kiddos exclaim that, "Mom, we got a package!" My wonderful swap partner, Dawn R., sent me this wonderful box of goodies. So come wander the countryside of France with me, as I take my Fantasy, Flirty vacation.


Thanks Dawn!!! I've already found a good use for my red, white and blue bag. Oh, and my daughter has been eying those stamps.

Catching up!

I guess we've been a bit busy, as I haven't been on here in a while. Here is a snippet of what has been going on. We enjoyed a visit from the Pappy and visited for the first time the other Air and Space Museum. It had so much stuff to see! Very cool!!!Here we are under the space shuttle Enterprise, which had the following satellite hanging above it.

This is maybe one third of the planes we saw! There were SO MANY!!!

Philip's Baptism was the Sunday before last and this was the only picture that I remembered to get. We had a great time with the godparents at the park following this.


And lastly, today, we got haircuts. I think I may be improving, slightly. Still a ways to go, though.

But these guys are so cute, who will notice?

Did you know...?

That they made the ship USS New York from the World Trade Center? I just found out from here. How cool, huh?

My sewing machine isn't getting a rest these days. I made this today for Thom. It's shown here a little big for Adeline.

Sew, Sew Handsome!

Philip's baptism is scheduled for this Sunday and as of last Saturday I was without any white outfits appropriate for my baby. So I swung by Joann's and purchased a pattern and some material and notions. (Side note: I don't recommend Burda patterns as they are difficult to follow.) Here is the finished product:

A Bride's Prayer

Lord, grant that I may be worthy of him who has chosen me to be his bride. Lord, grant that I may correspond to the trust of his name and provide for the needs of his house. Lord, grant that I may repay his love with a lifetime of faithfulness.
Because he has chosen me as his companion throughout life, give me the strength to walk at his side for the whole length of the way. And because he has selected me as the sister of his destiny, make me the sharer of all his hours of fatigue and happiness; but reserve for me the greater part of every pain. And because he has chosen me to be the mother of his children, infuse in my soul the necessary strength to be always the support, the joy, and the peace of his home.
Thus may I become for him the smile and the hope, the reuge and the certainty in the routine of our daily life. Artsy Fartsy

With the encouragement of my wonderful sister-in-law, I entered the Sassy Apron Swap. I had so much fun creating the following apron for my swap partner, Lucy B.


And the coordinating hot pad.


I bought more than enough fabric, so I made another full apron for myself. Then Adeline sewed the following half apron for herself. She did an excellent job! Now we hang out in the kitchen baking and cleaning together in matching aprons. Too much fun!!!
