A Quote

How can it be a large career to tell other people's children about the Rule of Three, and a small career to tell one's own children about the universe?
How can it be broad to be the same thing to everyone, and narrow to be everything to someone? No. A woman's function is laborious, but because it is gigantic, not because it is minute. I will pity Mrs. Jones for the hugeness of her task; I will never pity her for its smallness.

Our Family Flag

Red for Love
R for Ramirez
Blue for boys
Pink for girls
Stars for because each one is a star to me.
Rectangle because we're not squares!

What do you think? What does your family flag look like?

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for:
1. Sleep
2. A full night's sleep
3. REM Sleep
4. Not being awakened at night
5. Not awakening to crying at 2 am ... and 4 am ... and 6 am...
6. Awakening fully rested
7. Sharing my bed with only one other person
8. Not cuddling the wall
9. Having a night stand
10. Did I say, 'sleep?'

Hope your having an equally blessed week!

Motivation Monday

Knowledge is power. What are you doing to increase your power? Learning a new skill is a great start! This particular skill, photography, is quite useful, too. Of course, right now I have my own private tutor that came with the camera.

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for:
1. The fact that I'm not a plumber! Eeewww!
2. A new toilet seat.
3. Blossoms, blossoms, everywhere.
4. The possibility of not being attached to a baby 24/7! (That's a little selfish, but it has been over four years.)
5. Beautiful weather
6. Confession
7. Superheros that stick around. The boys are getting Batman and Superman capes in their baskets.
8. Craftiness. I love giving homemade gifts.
9. The Last Supper in which we were given Communion.
10. Jesus Christ's enormous love for us. He suffered and died for you and me. Thanks be to God.

Motivation Monday

I've been a little down in the dumps (thanks to cyclical hormones), so I've been looking for little things to brighten my world. Today I share this:

It's amazing how a handful of freshly picked flowers can light up a room. I've kept a vase on my table for a few days now and I think I'd like to continue to. What secrets do you have for making your world more beautiful?
